Happy Birthday, Marines!

Sunday, November 10th, was the 238th birthday of the United States Marine Corps and boy do they know how to throw a birthday party! Saturday night, all the marines from DLI (Defense Language Institute) here in Monterey gathered at the Hyatt hotel ballroom to celebrate. Jim and I had a blast with our friend Mike (a fellow Olmsted Scholar who will be moving to St. Petersburg, Russia next Summer).

I got my dress from Rent the Runway which is a company that rents designer dresses for a fraction of the retail cost. I got to rock a Monique Lhuillier dress and had so much fun wearing it. I would highly recommend using them the next time you have an event! And Jim loved it too because it didn't add another dress to my closet!

All in all, we had a great evening celebrating the 238th birthday of the marines!
